I have a quick question. When your space craft reach their highest altitude do the balloons pop or do you let out some of the gas and induced a controlled decsent? I ask this because I’m wondering how the craft land in one piece.
If we’re shooting for maximum altitude we’ll run till the balloon bursts. If we’re heading toward civilization or a difficult recovery area we’ll release the balloon before we get there. On Tandem we’ll have vents that can release helium on command.
