Plastic and Tape

I found another old video that never made it to Youtube.

This is Away 22 climbing away. The team built this balloon for fast climbing. It made it to 91,000 feet soaring up at 1,400 feet per minute with just a minimum of positive lift. We flew this mission in December 2003.

    A good way to see other videos like this one is to buy JP’s book “Floating to Space”. I saw the book for sale today at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum’s bookstore (three left after I bought one). It has a DVD included with lots of mission content.

    Page 188 has more details about this mission.
