Storm Delays Mission
The storm in the Pacific has slowed and now it’s going to hit right during the launch. We’ve official scrubbed the launch, We now in the process of moving our permits and clearances to the alternate launch date in two weeks.

JPA on PBS this November
Thursday I got to pre screen the ‘Beyond Geek’ episode that features JPA. It is awesome! It’s going to air all across the country in November. Here’s a screenshot of the animation in the episode. It’s the Ascender entering orbit.

Firing Number 150
Yesterday we conducted our 150th supersonic run with the shock tube. We’re getting pretty comfortable in the mach 2 to 3 range.

Data Dart Program
We’re slowly expanding the flight envelope of our micro hypersonic vehicle. A few days ago night we flew it to 378 mph. That’s right at half mach.

High Speed Research at JP Aerospace
We’re putting together a short video on hypersonic research at JPA. Here’s a still of one of our micro hypersonic vehicles during a low speed checkout flight. By low speed we mean 326 mph.

Mission Success!
Away 100 and Away 101 were a complete success. This mission was to carry a bonsai and a flower arrangement for the Japanese artist Azuna Makoto to the edge of space for a photo shoot. Ten on board HD cameras captured the botanicals in flight. Both vehicle were recovered and the team is back home.
