Submarine Network Installed

This is one of the secondary computers in Bellavia. The subs computer system is all distributed architecture. This one is an Arduino Mega. It takes all the commands coming from the PC and passes them to all the external computer (6) via an I2C network. It also handles some internal system like lights and life support.

Three High Racks, Three Airships and One Submarine under Construction

We worked on a lot of vehicles on Saturday. We mounted decks on Away 118, build frames for Away 119 and Away 120, build truss segments for Ascender 36, assembled the aft helium vents and preped cameras for Ascender 26, worked on molds for valves for Tandem 3 and mounted secondary computers on Bellavia. Lots happening.

Ascender 36 Construction Begins

Last Saturday we began construction of our new airship the Ascender 36. This vehicle is ten feet longer than the Ascender 26 and it’s a bit greater in diameter. It will carry a helium inter-cell pumping system and after vent valves. Look for first flight in 2016.

Ascender 26 to Fly Again

On August 2nd the Ascender 26 airship will take to the sky for it’s second free flight. On this fight we’re rebalancing the vehicle and will climb a little faster and go a little higher. Max altitude will be approx. 7,000 feet.
