I’m surprised they didn’t require detailed information like cross-sections and propulsion for the airfoil on the orbiter; seems like much of the negative criticism I’ve heard for ATO stems from the orbital dynamics and drag, etc, required to reach orbital velocity. I believe the PTO requires an invention to be “operable” to be allowed; did you have to prove the viability of the system in some way?

Congratulations! I am looking forward to the actually launch vehicle, and the floating station. Models are great, and the research is necessary, but the day JP Aerospace actually puts a crew into near-space with a functional ascender vehicle is the day I’ll be truly glad. Heck, I’ll apply for a job on the station…. Good job, and good luck guys/gals.
